Jeremy Denis | Vocalist

National Anthem singer Jeremy Denis appeared in Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ recent production of Fire Shut Up in My Bones by composer Terence Blanchard, singing the prominent role of the young Char’es. Previously he performed in Harry Potter at the Gateway Center for Performing Arts, Family Feud at the Deaconess Foundation Freedom Schools, and Road to Broadway at Bierbaum Elementary School.

Christine Brewer | Soprano

Grammy Award-winning soprano Christine Brewer’s appearances in opera, concert, and recital are marked by her own unique timbre, at once warm and brilliant, combined with a vibrant personality and emotional honesty reminiscent of the great sopranos of the past. Named one of the top 20 sopranos of all time by BBC Music, she began her career at Opera Theatre of St. Louis and has sung with the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Paris Opera, the St. Louis Symphony and many other orchestras around the world. This is her eighth appearance in the annual interfaith concert.

Alla Voskoboynikova | Pianist

Pianist Alla Voskoboynikova performs extensively as a soloist and a collaborator, regularly collaborating with members of the St. Louis Symphony and coaching for Opera Theatre of St. Louis and Union Avenue Opera Company. Since 2004, she has held the position of Director of Keyboard Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Before moving to the United States in 1996, Alla was a pianist and vocal coach at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater in Ukraine. She received her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Music College in Voronezh, Russia and her master’s in Piano Performance from the Gnessins Academy of Music in Moscow, Russia.

Stephanie Berg | Composer

Heralded as a “promising new compositional voice” by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Kansas City-native Stephanie Berg has written music that has been described by David Robertson as possessing “a tremendous energy.” Her music, both for large and small ensembles, has been heard across the world with performances by the St. Louis Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Symphony Tacoma, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Project St. Louis, St. Louis Low Brass Collective, DDG Oboe Trio, and many others. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Missouri–Columbia.

Maria Ellis | Choral Conductor

Music educator and choral conductor with over 20 years of choral music experience, Maria Ellis has been described as a “master educator” and a “force of nature” by Dr. Jim Henry, University of Missouri-St. Louis. Maria holds a B.M. in Music Education emphasis on Voice Degree, K-12 Certified, from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. She currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs and is the Director of The Sheldon’s City of Music All-Star Chorus. Maria is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association and National Association of Music Educators.
